Attention White Rock/South Surrey residents – are you considering braces but are terrified of how you’ll look? Not too many adults want to look like they’re back in their junior years and sometimes, traditional metal braces give that appearance. When you need a solution that helps align your teeth and doesn’t compromise the way you look and feel, there’s Invisalign®.
Invisalign® braces are invisible teeth aligners designed to be an alternative to traditional metal braces. These aligner trays are made of a smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the Invisalign® aligners will steadily and gently shift your teeth into place.
Unlike traditional braces, there are no metal brackets to attach, and no need to tighten any wires, leaving you with a beautiful smile with little interference in your daily life. And the best part, most people won’t even know you’re wearing them.
Watch this short video intro to Invisalign:
You may have already heard of Invisalign® and how it works, but let us walk you through the Peace Arch Dental treatment process; from consultation to a beautiful, confident new you.
A vast number of people incorrectly believe that Invisalign® braces can only effectively treat minor teeth straightening issues. Invisalign® can help patients with moderate and severe dental issues, including the following:
1. Contact us and set up a FREE consultation
Throughout the consultation, Dr. Michael Layton will discuss your options with you directly in detail to decide if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. You will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding the treatment, costs, dental/orthodontic insurance, or any concern you may have.
2. Dr. Layton will create a customized treatment plan for you
After careful examination done by Dr. Layton, we will take impressions, x-rays, and pictures of your teeth. From these impressions, we will be able to create a digital 3-D image of your teeth. Dr. Layton will be able to conclude exact movements of your teeth, let you know approximately how long the length of the treatment will be, and create a customized treatment plan, just for you.
3. Get your custom fitted aligners based on your treatment plan
Based on the customized treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear, BPA-free plastic Invisalign aligners will be made for you. These aligners will not irritate your cheeks and gums like conventional metal braces. You will wear them throughout the day, and remove them whenever you wish to eat or brush, and floss your teeth. It’s that easy!
4. Wear a new Invisalign® aligner every two weeks
Roughly every two weeks, you will start wearing a new set of Invisalign aligners and then you will be advancing to the next stage of your treatment. We will continually monitor your development with occasional check-up appointments with Dr. Layton. Typically, you will only need to come in for a checkup every 6 weeks or so. Dr. Layton advises, that for the best and timely outcome, you should wear the Invisalign braces 20-24 hours per day.
5. Have a great smile and keep your teeth looking beautiful
Congratulations! You have reached the end of treatment and you will be smiling more than ever. You can continue to protect your smile that you’ve worked so hard for by using retainers to keep your teeth from losing their position. Ask Dr. Layton how you can keep that beautiful smile for the rest of your life.
